USE OF THE INTERNET WHILE DRIVING INCREASES

No surprise to any of us who regularly ride motorcycles, not only has texting while driving gone up in use, but people surfing the web while driving has increased alarmingly. The culprit?……….SMART PHONES! Apparently the phones are smarter than the people using them. What is so important that you can’t wait until you get home to web surf or Google? Instead, these people are risking their own lives and the lives of drivers around them. Especially motorcycle riders.
According to statistics available, the number of people accessing the internet while on a cell phone while driving, increased from 29 percent in 2009 to 48 percent in 2012.
Checking email while driving increased from 32 percent in 2009 to 43 percent in 2012.
